Scaffolding Writing in Contextualized, Co-requisite Courses

“We write to taste life twice, in the moment and in retrospection,” stated Anais Nin. Scaffolding writing assignments allow the instructor the opportunity to help students move from guided to independent processing and writing while incorporating relevant, workforce, real world topics. “What a learner is able to do in collaboration today, he will be able to do independently tomorrow,” lauds L. S. Vygotsky. This presentation will define, identify and discuss contextualized co-requisite model and how scaffolding writing assignments are implemented.
